This amount nearly covered the complete development of the first two phases of project, the ANF and the NPNF parses. The target amount of funds has been updated to include the third and final stage, that is, fixing minor textual errors.
In our last update, it was noted that our top and most immediate goal was “to fix the recent error of the Ante-Nicene Fathers, Vol. 1 being omitted from the parse results.” Mission accomplished!
Some minor improvements are that we have also changed the font and coloring for the in-text Scripture references to improve the readability of the site. Also, extracted texts from the should no longer begin or end in the middle of a word.
We are on the final phase of the project by fixing literally hundreds of parse errors. These types of issues include the non-standard verse formats that don’t easily parse, and errors having to do with mistakes in CCEL pages. For example, there are several CCEL page sequence or page number errors that need to be fixed. The most common error across all volumes is dealing with verse reference problems in the footnotes of the Church Fathers.
As a result of this future work, there will be a more complete set of Scripture references, each now verified from three different sources (the text, the link, and the index), more accurate primary text (insofar as CCEL provides it), and corrections to the online resources, either made directly in collaboration with CCEL or compensated for in the results we provide when possible.
