... blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.” And what follows is of the same tenor: “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.”[Matthew 23:29-38]

CCEL Footnote 2798 (In-Text, Margin)
[61] Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye build the tombs of the prophets, which your fathers killed, and adorn the burying-places of the righteous, [62] and say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we should not have been partakers [63] with them in the blood of the prophets. Wherefore, behold, ye witness against [64] yourselves, that ye are the children of those that slew the prophets.[Matthew 23:32] And ye also, [65] ye fill up the measure of your fathers. Ye serpents, ye children of vipers, where shall ye flee from the judgement of Gehenna?

CCEL Footnote 997 (In-Text, Margin)
... For they who are worthy of that world and of that Resurrection from the dead, they that are men do not take wives, nor are the women married to husbands, for they cannot die, for they are as the angels of God and children of the Resurrection. But concerning the Resurrection, that the dead shall rise, have ye not read in the Scripture that God said to Moses out of the bush, “I am the God of Abraham, of Isaac and of Jacob.” And lo! He is not God of the dead, for they all are alive unto Him.[Matthew 23:29-32]
